Community Guidelines

UYards is for genuine campus connection. These rules apply to profiles, posts, comments, communities, messages, meet-ups and every other part of the service.

Be genuine

•
Do not impersonate another person, organisation or university.
•
Do not submit false verification evidence or misrepresent your campus affiliation.
•
Do not use deceptive accounts, coordinated manipulation, spam or scams.

Respect people

•
No harassment, bullying, stalking, threats or encouragement of violence.
•
No hateful attacks or dehumanising content based on protected characteristics.
•
No non-consensual sexual content, sexual exploitation or sexual content involving minors.
•
Do not share another person’s private information, precise location, intimate material or confidential records without permission.

Keep people safe

•
Do not promote self-harm, dangerous challenges, weapons misuse, illegal drugs or other conduct likely to cause serious injury.
•
Do not plan, organise, solicit, facilitate, praise or encourage criminal activity, fraud, trafficking, exploitation or other unlawful conduct.
•
Do not post, request, distribute or direct others to pornographic or sexually explicit content, sexual services, non-consensual intimate material, sexual exploitation or any sexual content involving minors.
•
Meet in public, tell someone you trust and use your own judgement when arranging an in-person meet-up. UYards does not supervise off-platform meetings.

Respect ownership

•
Share only content you created or have permission to use.
•
Do not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights.
•
Do not scrape, copy or commercially reuse other users’ content without permission.

Keep the service useful

•
No malware, credential theft, attempts to bypass security, automated scraping or disruption of UYards.
•
No repetitive promotion, unsolicited bulk messages or misleading commercial activity.
•
Post in relevant communities and describe meet-ups honestly.

Jobs, internships and opportunities

These rules apply to anyone posting about work, internships, gigs or other opportunities, whether an individual or an organisation.
•
Describe the role, the organisation, the pay and the conditions accurately. Do not advertise a role that does not exist.
•
Never ask an applicant for money, deposits, training fees, equipment payments, bank credentials or identity documents in order to be considered.
•
Do not restrict or express a preference by sex, pregnancy, marital or family status, disability, race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin. Discriminatory job advertisements are unlawful in Hong Kong, and the person who publishes one can be liable as well as the advertiser.
•
Do not advertise work that the applicant could not lawfully do, including work that would breach a student visa or other immigration condition.
•
Do not use an opportunity as a pretext to collect personal information, to recruit for another service, or to move someone to a private channel for a scam.
Suspected recruitment fraud is treated as a serious violation. We remove the content, may permanently close the account, and may report it to the police. If an opportunity you found through UYards asks you for money, report it before you pay anything.

Reporting and enforcement

Community members share responsibility for keeping UYards safe and are expected to promptly report content or conduct they reasonably believe violates these rules. Use the in-app Report action for a post, profile or message. Do not retaliate against a reporter, knowingly submit false reports or attempt to conduct your own investigation.
For urgent or inaccessible reports, email support@uyards.com. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. UYards reviews reports and takes proportionate action, and aims to remove objectionable content and eject the responsible user within 24 hours of a report we uphold.
We consider context, severity, intent, harm and account history. Possible actions include warnings, reduced visibility, content removal, feature restrictions, blocked access, suspension and permanent account deletion. Serious conduct may be reported to appropriate authorities where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect someone.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, follow the Account Appeal instructions on our Support page. Include enough information for us to identify the decision. Do not submit repeated or abusive appeals.
